A classic Cornish weekend beside the sea with silent coves and tumbling waves

September 9, 2016

Waves tumbling in across Mounts bay in cornwall for a classic cornish coastline

For the last Bank Holiday of the year we walked from the farm to visit a nearby favourite cove to enjoy the summer sunshine, spurning the busy roads and we enjoyed two very special days of contrasts that must be the very essence of experience of Classic Cornwall.

The Lizard and Kennack Sands

August 17, 2016

Kennack Sands on the Lizard Peninsular in Cornwall

We made a pilgrimage to The Lizard Peninsular yesterday to visit Kennack Sands – a sandy beach that held fond memories for Charles as the scene of many of boyhood adventures – although yesterday it might have been said to be a little more crowded these days!

Two days in Penzance

July 28, 2016

Penzance harbour full of pleasure craft backed by the lovley old buildings of the town

I spent two days in Penzance this week and just as the UK revelled in the heat wave I was attending a computer course. I spent my time visiting the town and exploring the side streets down the harbour, to pick up the glorious cooling breeze from the sea.

A visit to Penzance Harbour

June 26, 2016

The long expanse of the granite Albert pier at Penzance Haarbour

There was hardly a soul in site as I followed the granite pier passed the trawlers and pleasure boats; ocean yachts and pirate ships (no really tours available!) There was a tangle of ropes straining tightly over silky smooth water and the scent of the sea in the air as I walked

Cape Cornwall - the only cape in britain

The drive between Land’s End and St Ives has been voted one of the nations favorite drives. as it winds between villages and cairns flanked by the sea

April 14, 2016

A spring walk to Gurnard's head along an unspoilt coastline

Explore the wonderful cliffs that lay between Zennor and Gurnard’s Head. This blog has an album of snaps taken on a spring walk. That day we passed isolated coves, cornish mines and finishes on an Iron age Fort,
