2020 has dawned and spring is nearly here – so are we ready for your holidays in 2020 here at Ednovean Farm?
Our home has seen so many springs in so many guises since we started its renovation to make our home and Bed and Breakfast, nearly thirty years ago.
2020! And Ednovean Farm has been a B&B for 29 years

This year, it is daunting to realise this is our twenty ninth year of marriage and hosting bed and breakfast. So we’ve been busy this winter tweaking and fine tuning our beds and bathrooms ready for your holidays
What has been happening at Ednovean Farm this winter?

Combining vintage with luxury…
Each year there are always new projects to think about, as the changing face of tourism asks new questions. Yet we also have to be mindful of our many returning guests who love Ednovean Farm’s Vintage style country bedrooms just the way they are. So we work with a gently touch, adapting with a sympathetic hand, for the many guests have shared our journey with us, over the years since 1991.

Carefully tweaking!
Well we’ve been busy preparing for our guests this year, with a quite a few tweaks to our bedrooms. Two new King sized beds are ready to install or at least the mattresses have been delivered. At last the new French Bed has been delivered for the Blue Bedroom!! (The Pink bedroom bed is already King sized, as years ago they sent the wrong size so it just need s a little adjustment) But our main triumph to date has been the updating of two showers in the en-suite bathrooms with gleaming new glass enclosures and smart new tiles.

And Marmalade making
Winter brings the more homely diversion of marmalade making, ready for breakfast for those spring holidays! This is a task that Charles enjoys on winter days. As soon as the local farm shop displays the richly anticipated blackboard “marmalade oranges in stock!” he fills the passenger seat of the car with fruit and spends days in a rich aroma of oranges as he chops, dices, boils and strains. Somehow no matter how much he makes, it never seems to last long enough. However the aromatic scent permeates the house and the rich tangy taste is a real treat for breakfast for a month or two.
The Apricot Bedroom en suite new walk in Shower

The Apricot Bedroom has swapped its pretty slipper bath for a chic new walk in shower complimented by the beautiful textures of the travertine tiles. The gently encompassing honeyed stone combine to make this a relaxing serene retreat. I have to admit I did love the slipper bath but alas more and more of our guest were asking for “A room with a shower!” (If anybody local would like a free slightly chiped slipper bath with free standing taps do get in touch)
The Blue Bedroom Bathroom

The Blue bedroom has swapped its double shower for a smart new enclosure of gleaming glass and stylish dark blue subtly vintage styled tiles.
Charles fell in love with a bold, blue, fishy print from the Chapel Street art Gallery for an upbeat finish to this bathroom. And shhh stop press! We’ve bought a French style King sized bed for this bedroom too. But I wont change the room particulars until it finally arrives to meet its mattress!

Yes we’re ready!!
Thus as spring finally approaches we’ve kept busy recently, tracking down the dust that follows every job and finally redecorating the bedrooms. At last we are grateful to see the last of a dust sheet for a very long time. At this moment it is just the delivery of the King sized bed to come and Ednovean Farm is ready for her launch into the next decade of hospitality.
