Valentines day

February 14, 2015

Valentines in the Blue roomA very happy Valentines day to everybody that stops to read my post today. These day I prefer to think of it as a celebration for the developing spring that unfolds across the land. The bird song that has sprung up after the long silent winter; the bright green spring shoots as the days lengthen and the sun climbs in the sky.

Of course is is the special day for young lovers who have waited in heart stopping anticipation for the postman’s step or should I say the ping of the arriving e-mail these days.

Something a little special for Valentines day

I like to mark any special occasions by adding just a little something to the bedrooms for our Bed and Breakfast guests, just as a little extra to mark the celebration and maybe make a memory for ever for them. I always like to put a vase of roses on the bedroom dressing tables and for this week, I choose the traditional red roses.

Valentines

And just because I’m an incurable romantic at heart, a scattering of shiny hearts confetti and a token box of heart shaped chocolates. I think I mentioned the confetti earlier in my little blog of Valentines and birdsong and I love its OTT heart (maybe not tomorrow when I have to hoover it up!)

Maybe Breakfast in bed?

For a special start to a Valentine’s day celebration might I suggest Breakfast in Bed? We will bring a delicious Continental breakfast  to your bedroom.

Whatever you decide may you have a wonderful day with the one that you love!
