Are autumn vibes in the air right now? The change in the season ushered in with the tumbling waves?
We can hear the seas so clearly now – the autumn vibes as the season changes: – distant roar from the cove below the village, the regular rhythm of the sea along with a hint of sea salt in the air.
From summer heat wave to autumn vibes
Our recent days have been so different from the still days of the heat-wave. Those summer days that led to the South West being officially declared a “drought area”. However as the first rains finally fell the landscape breathed a sigh of relief and renewed itself with a cape of green.
Autumn storms and exciting days to come
The seas have crashed and boiled this week boiling across Mounts Bay to surge into thus far tranquil coves. This timely reminder of the great autumn days to come has been a perfect promise of days ahead as the seasons change.
Exploring Perranuthnoe’s coves
Perranuthnoe is flanked by a trio of coves flanking the long sandy expanse of the main beach. Some are reached by earthy slipways from the coastal footpath – slipways that are a remnant of the days when farmers would collect the seaweed as a fertilizer for the fields. Now they are a perfect way to reach the coves and that little treat of a lazy hour on sun warmed sands.
The coves along the coast are guarded by reefs of rocks that are perfect for snorkelling on summer days and each cove with a channel for the fishing boats that once plied the bay to launch. Distant times except for the promise of autumn vibes coursing through the air with the renewing seas of autumn.
But I don’t think that it’s time to put the bikini and beach towel away just yet though! The sun is still high and the seas are still warm from the long days of summer sunshine.
