Ednovean’s moods for all seasons

Dressing table

Evening light on a dressing table

As I trawled through our photo albums today looking for inspiration, it occurred to me that Ednovean Farm did indeed have a mood for all seasons. Changing her outfit like a capricious woman according to her mood, with a character that floats from playfully Mediterranean in the summer to warm and cosily British in the winter. I thought I’d write a short blog today to share a few of my favorite images from the year.

Our September Garden Diary for Ednovean Farm

Evening garden sunshineEach month I write a diary update about the Ednovean Farm garden that has given our bed and breakfast guests so much pleasure throughout the year. It only seems like yesterday (and where have you heard that before!) that I nervously wrote out first wordpress update about our garden. The month has flown by, soothed along its way with fabulous weather and a warm air flow from the Continent. Continue reading “Our September Garden Diary for Ednovean Farm” »

Autumn breaks, fiery sunsets and village chat

St Michael's Mount at sunsetAs September draws on, the mind wanders towards autumn and perhaps the prospect on one last short break before the “C” word is mentioned The soft autumn sunshine is perfect here in Cornwall for exploring the coastal path with is secret coves and trawling the waters edge with only the sea birds for company. Also this week I’ve shared my favorite sunset photos taken from Ednovean farm and a little bit of news from Perranuthnoe. Continue reading “Autumn breaks, fiery sunsets and village chat” »

For the first time this year, with rucksacks packed, we walked out across Ednovean Farm’s easterly footpath towards Trebarvah before dropping down through the dusty lane between two farmsteads. We paused for a moment to admire Perranuthnoe’s own beach laying far below us now, to our right, with golden sands exposed by the retreating spring tides. August in the Ednovean Farm Garden

old copper ednovean farmI can’t believe we’ve reached August already as the year has sped passed us and with August, time for another roundup about the Ednovean Gardens. With the imperceptible turn of the year the sleek black blackberries glow in the hedgerows and the corn deepens from green to gold in the fields, moving with an idle rustle in the breeze and the garden reaches its zenith.

Great places to eat close to Ednovean Farm West Cornwall

Kitchen_A05Welcome to our little black book of great places to eat that are close to Ednovean Farm.

One of the first questions I’m asked by our Bed and Breakfast guests is “Can you recommend a good restaurant for tonight” and as I mentioned yesterday I can often write the “tale of seven restaurants” by the time I’ve secured a brilliant table for our new guests.

So here are a few suggestions for your notebook before your stay, starting with the ones within walking distance of Ednovean Farm on Perranuthnoe and then out and about in West Cornwall. Each entry has a link to their own web site (if there is one available!)
