A very happy Easter to you all!

This will be our twenty forth year of welcoming guests to our Bed and Breakfast accommodation although as Charles pointed out, we were married in May and so this is the twenty third Easter for welcoming guests to our home. Still I won’t let small detail like that put me off of my blog! Easter day dawned here in Cornwall with bright sunshine and glittery dew so lovely for the day!

Ednovean Farm West Cornwall

This will be the twenty fourth year for our bed and Breakfast at Ednovean Farm

I hope that you have settled down to enjoy the weekend, perhaps taking blustery walks along the beach if you are near the sea.  I always find the childhood thrill lingers on, of dodging the incoming waves as they slip across the sand and listening to the scrunch of the sand under your feet. There’s nothing like a walk along the beach to   blow the winter cobwebs away and Easter is a great time to officially put winter behind you and look forward to Summer don’t you think?

Nostalgic Dining room

Easter treats waiting on the dining room sideboard for Easter Sunday

Then there’s always chocolate of course, that time honoured Easter treat in the form of smooth round eggs, tantalizingly wrapped in rustling foil. I always buy some tiny eggs or chocolate bunnies for our guests Breakfast table on Easter Sunday and this year I spotted some sweet crackers.

I think they may have been meant for children but a little bit of nostalgia can be good at any time of year and a little look back over other Easter weekends through life can be comforting.

March was certainly a month of surprises and swung from days so warm that we discarded our jumpers to work in the garden in a tee shirt, to sudden cold snaps that had me at least, searching out my comfortable woolly hat again. But the new spring flowers are a joy to see this year, after the winter days and they spill from every conceivable corner on roadside verges and country gardens. The bright yellow of the celandines, primroses and Daffodils and lush new growth – Summer is on the way!

I wonder what April will bring us? The high that’s settling over the British Isles at long last should give us a great Sunday though. So Happy Easter and enjoy the chocolate!!
